Default 1000+ hp 370 has begun....

So it's official! Got my rods and Pistons ordered today... Ended up going with some Texas speed super I beam 6.125 rods, diamond 11517 4.030 -15cc Pistons, and diamonds premium steel ring set.... Gonna stick with the stock ls3 crank. I'm also sticking with the 243/799 heads.... May pick up a set of Prc stage 2.5 ls6 heads. Pretty much have everything for the build, just gotta get a cam! And I think vortec350ss is going to help me out with the cam... I was gonna use a ls3 top end, but talked to a few people and decided to stay cathedral port! Should be a super nice setup when it's all said and done, which will be within the next few months. I'm sure the pt8884 billet turbo I have shouldn't have a problem putting down 1000+

What was the reasoning to stay cathedral port? I run rectangle port heads and it's a dog until about 3500-4000. Just curious what your reasons were.

I'm doing it! Car parts machine shop out here in El Paso is going to do the block work for me... As far as assembly and swapping motors, that's all me. I'm just finishing up a 416 stroker with a f1a procharger setup for a friend of mine... It's going in his 2009 Pontiac gxp

yes sir, in the Tahoe. I was looking at some RCSB trucks, but I really like my Tahoe, so I figure why not!

Well, after talking with several people about the ls2 vs ls3 top end, it came down to the weight of my vehicle, wanting to spool the turbo as fast as possible (which cathedral heads have more velocity to do so), and I'm not going to be running a huge stahl in the truck (3000-3400), I figure I can make just as much power with the cathedral setup as I could with a rectangular setup, especially if I end up with some Prc stage 2.5 ls6 heads (which may be down the road a bit), I think I'll be more impressed with the cathedral setup for a heavy street vehicle... Yeah the ls3 setup may flow more cfm than the ls6.... But that's what I got this big turbo for! I'm sure it will take care of everything past 3500k rpm!

Turbo don't care, just feed it exhaust and you'll make power! The heads staying on is a different issue all together
