Default 1.8 rocker arm dyno or input?

My uncle wont listen to me about a cam swap. Is scared less of taking the motor apart, he is interested in rocker arms though

I want to show him the difference between $500-600 on rocker arms verses $1000 on cam swap and hp ratio to cost

I have a set of 1.8 yella terra rocker arms on my truck, but they were installed after my first tune with bolt ons so no dyno #s for the rocker arm only. I can tell they made a difference through out the power band but nothing crazy noticeable like my cam swap.

Help me talk him into the cam swap thanks guys

I have the same rockers and did mine at the same time I did the CAM and stall and everything else. It's not one of those mods that "ADDS" HP but more free's up HP.

The CAM swap would be better bang for the buck I would think. If he can afford it why not do both?? I only did the rockers cause the engine was out and torn apart and I figured why not

vinci cams claims up to 20 horsepower with the yella terra rockers. i didnt notice that much but it felt better through the whole rpm range.

[QUOTE=ak2007r6;5063245]t "ADDS" HP but more free's up HP.

Nicely put!!!

Yea vinci got the sale out of me with that quote lol dont think it was 20 hp to the wheels like they said maybe 10 hp

He has the money just thinks the cam will shorten the life of the motor and drive train.

I told him with a good tune it will be fine and with the right cam could even gain a lil mpgs

I put a cam in my truck at 155,000 miles, reused the rockers, went to hardened pushrods and replaced the lifters. 10k later it's just as strong as it was day 1 after the swap.

Used LS6 Springs
Used Hardened Pushrods
Used Cam

I wouldn't hesitate to drive my truck cross country after the cam swap. Sometimes though, you can't talk people out of doing silly things.
