Default 06 LS2 cam in an 01 5.3. Any complications?

I can get a 3 bolt ls2 cam super cheap to toss in my 5.3, the only thing I am not sure on is the cam sensor. To use the ls2 cam do I have to swap to the different front cover and all that nonsense? If so, I'll just keep an eye out for a cheap ls6 cam.

Thanks everyone!

Yes, you would need the new front cover and extension harness (or make your own) and the corresponding cam gear. Pretty simple swap overall.

Thanks for the reply. Ill just wait for a good deal on a cam that I don't have to change much else.

I forgot about that. I bet I could find one of them cheap since everyone is looking for the 02+ ls6 cam. Thanks!
