04 2500 head/cam question
#1
There isn't a whole lot out there for 6.0 2500 performance. I'm really just looking to make a little more power for towing and bc it's a dog.
I got a set of 799 heads and they're getting some porting done now. I'll get flow numbers when they're done soon. I'm looking at either a custom grind cam or possibly this one I've read has good reviews.

LS7 replacement lifters and LS2 timing chain just bc it's apart already. Then some LS6 valve springs.
I'll probably punch out the converters. Dunno if the shorty headers are worth the 500 bucks tho.

Thats a great cam for towing. Check the lifter preload with the LS7 lifters. Their slightly taller than the stock lifters. Also, higher gears would help with towing. Not sure what came in the 2500s. Im guessing 4.10s. Maybe some 4.56 gears will get that thing moving.

I have 4.10s so I could do 285/75/16s.(33in)
Ya I was thinkin the shorty headers were a waste and I don't want anything loud so it's gonna stay stock.
I know ls7 lifters are said to be taller but they're the GM replacement for all previous lifters.
