#1
Would like to know whats a good cam to put in my 6.0L 03 SS Silverado AWD
Going to be hauling my Firehawk to the track w it not looking to race this truck but the extra power would be awsome
Mods so far K&N Kit, Cats Deleted, Flowmaster 40 Muffler, E fans, Tuned
Dont want to have to change the Converter out in My Truck tho
Thx

You're gonna need something pretty smallto give you the power where you need it for towing. I would probably go with something like a 212/218 or even smaller I have read that the 212/218 drives like a stock cam but there is more power everywhere. You'll get a better bump in low end power from an increase in compression though. Look for some 243 heads and a low lift cam so you can reuse the springs that are in the heads. Between those 2 things you should feel a nice bump in power for short money. You're probably gonna wanna combine all this with a set of the 1 3/4" headers on ebay too. Those probably wont do much for low end, but they wont hurt it, and they will really the cam breathe up top.
Most people will probably tell you that the best way to get the power where you need/want it without sacrificing any drivability will be getting a magnacharger MP112 for real cheap. Generally speaking the more NA power you make the higher up in the RPM range it is because you are increasing airflow capabilities while hurting the low RPM velocity of the air... FI fixes that issue.

I would suggest almost the same as Vortec350ss.
The 212/218 Camshaft would be excellent combined with a set of our PRC Stage 2.5 5.3 Heads. With the 63cc combustion chambers, this would put you at roughly 11:1 compression. We have our stainless steel truck headers in stock now too if you want to check them out on our website:
Texas Speed & Performance 1-3/4" Stainless Steel 1999-2007 Truck Headers
Or if you have any questions please feel free to give us a call! 806-698-0365

+1 for vortec350ss.
You can find a used 112 for around 1500-3000 depending on condition. If its just for towing a set of 42# injectors will work. You may be able to get away with the stock pump. Or the Racetronix drop in replacement pump works very well.
