its not a 99-02 but its the same motor with the same thing you did and it has a FAST 90mm tb

why did you get a "LS7" cam? thats a lot of split for a stock 5.3 i would have looked more into a LS6/2 cam vs the LS7 if you was wanting a cheap stock cam.

post pics of your build

Same here...it's hard enough to find 6.0's in general, let alone for that price. But ****, everything in Jersey is more expensive than the rest of the country...especially car insurance

ls7 cam is alot cheaper than an ls6/cam plus i got it for 50 bucks so if it helps me get more power out of the stock motor then im 100% for it

not if the split is too much for the small heads on the 5.3 you will actually be leaving HP/TQ on the table.

but then again its only a 221/230 and a lot of people run the vhp trucker cam so i think you should dyno the truck and see how it does HP wise

i live in texas and never located one for even close to $1000. after months of looking i finally paid nearly $2g's for a low mileage engine. prices here ranged from $1500-$2500 with all but a couple on the high side of that price range over 90k miles. the $1000 LQ4 is a myth ever since everyone realized what an easy upgrade and swap they were. i did see one partially assembled longblock with 70k for $900 but only one and it would have needed a few hundred dollars worth of gaskets and parts to be ready to run. the LY5 with that mileage and the price he paid was the better deal.
