Default $3000 to build a 6.0???

How would you do it? What parts would you use?

The engine will go into a 2500lb 2wd truck.

I have a complete 6.0. The rockers came apart so it needs to come apart and be clean at the very least. I would like to use the 317 heads I have.

I would be running this on the street daily driving it with a little NOS kit maybe a 150 shot or so.

Thinking

6.0
t-400 2500 stall
carb
NOS
31" tire 4.56 gear or so

Thinking putting this in a ford f 100 rat rod

dont know where to start...

is it going into a Ford or not? the weight difference matterS?

I would cam it, switch heads, and run a highrise with the carb setup if thats what you want. but thats will suck for daily and mpg. you may want a stall, and something higher than 4.56 gears with a 31" tire. maybe some 3.73s or 4.10s.

I would do the trunion upgrade. When you have it apart, I would do a quick hone, and gap the rings for boost. Install springs and a cam for boost. If you can make some turbo parts you can save a good amount of money. More than likely you will be over 3k, but if you really try to keep the prices down it wont be horrible. In the long run it will be cheaper and easier than filling the nitrous bottle all the time. Plus it will be easy to turn up the boost in the future as the rings and cam are already taken care of. I will be taking this route on another vehicle in the spring.

If you are against forced induction I would get L92 heads, a cam, a good intake, and headers.
