What differential comes in the 2016/17 Silverado with 6.2 and 3.23 ratio is it the 9.5 or the 9.76 ??

 

9.76" are installed in all 6.2L

You sure? I thought only the Max Tow trucks had the 9.76"

 

No..... All the 6.2 trucks have the 9.76" and always have. Even my 3.23 geared sack of **** was the 9.76"...

 

Max tow gets them also but not many out there and he asked specifically about 6.2L trucks.

Yes now all 6.2 get the 9.76 with 3.23 with 8 spd
Max tow is 3.42 with 8 spd .......5.3 get the 9.5 ring and V6 has the old 10 bolt

Just ordered new 2017 All terrain and only way to get 3.42 with the 6.2 is with Max tow package which now is just a big mirror and heavier rear spring package brake controller etc ... 5.3 Max tow still has 3.73 rear with 8spd

What is really wild is the tow rating for the 6.2 with 3.23 rear and 5.3 with Max tow 3.73 is almost the same at about 9600lbs !!

 

How sure are you that you can get a 3.73 5.3???

 

Very sure its right in front of me on the factory build sheet option list I have when I built my new truck
Max Towing with 5.3 has 3.73 rear gear
Max towing with 6.2 is 3.42

 

you might be looking at a 2015 when you could get one ,go look for a 016 or 017

 

I just ordered a 2017 yesterday the info is correct ........ 5.3 Max tow 6 spd auto 3.73 9.76 rear .....but 5.3 Max Tow not available in SLT/ All terrain I did not want a entry level truck
