Default Silverado Carnage

Last month my 14 Silverado got taken out by a semi truck here in Brooklyn. I was driving in the right lane when she passed me on my left and then decided to switch lanes into my truck. I'm fine, the Silverado took the hit and the bags didn't even go off.

Turned out being a total loss by Geico, I started to shop around for a new truck. This time i wanted a lease, I loved the Silverado but first year problems like 100's of recalls and the driveline shake really were annoying. I had my heart set on an Ecoboost F150 but Ford wasn't entertaining offers. So I checked out Ram.

2016 Ram Sport 4x4, Pretty loaded minus the sunroof and Alpine stereo system. I added the running boards because I got tired of jumping into it. The RamBox cargo system is pretty sweet, the crew cab also has a lot of storage under the rear seats. The HEMI is a lot more torquier than the 5.3 especially mated to the 8 speed. The Chevy direct injection definitely helped with mileage something the Hemi doesnt have. Overall a pretty decent truck but it's a lease and i don't really care about it. Goes back in 3 years and hopefully Ram has caught up.

Thanks, I initially wanted a used Denali but the price of financing the Denali compared to what I've paid out of pocket to lease the Ram, made more sense to lease. According to Dodge there's a redesign coming 2018/19 so I'm right at the 3 year mark so we'll see.

14 silverado was a new redesign, this Ram is still the same body since 09. The XM shark antenna sucks, any tall building or obstruction and it cuts out. The Ram offers 3G where Chevy has 4G LTE. Chevy has Direct Injection as does Ford who now uses extra injectors to wash down the valves so they don't coke up. This truck still has a clutch fan and a giant brake booster. Chevy has a huge electric fan and a vacuum pump to power the brakes. Dodge still has 5 Lug hubs. Just little things that they can improve.
