Default Lifted 14' 6.2 ran a slow 14.1@97, need some help with tuning issues.

So I took the truck to Lonestar Raceway yesterday and was less than impressed. Even dropping rear tires down to 20psi and heating them up good it would spin well into second gear, so I started launching in 4hi and switching back to 2wd.

My issues are at the beginning of every run IAT is @135*, by the end of the run its only down to 110*. The stock intake SUX, I can't get cold air into the motor which makes timing drop. I averaged 14-14.5* timing through the traps. The headlight on these new trucks doesn't just pop out like they used to.

Also, when I launched in 4hi the throttle stops at 84%, even after its back in 2wd it never would go to 100%. I looked through the tune and can't find anything on this in HPTuners. I would call Jay, but he's on my **** list.

Has anyone seen or solved these issues?

84% is wide open on 07.5+ trucks.

Your lift and heavy tires are slowing you down the most.

I was expecting 13.7-9. Wasn't sure about the 84% throttle thing, but I know the high IAT was hurting me.

It pulls much harder up top when I've been cruising and iat is lower, and timing is much higher.

14.1 is respectable with those tires.

Put a good intake on it and see what happens.

The lift, wheels and tires are killing you. On the other hand, if all you got is a tune and exhaust I'd say you're doing good.

get rid of the monster tires and it'll drop .5
IMO, 14.1 on 35s is respectable

Yea I see nothing in this thread to be disappointed about. You ran a good time with tires that are killing you and IAT's that were pulling timing. Take those 2 factors out of it and you're looking at a low 13 second truck.
