How much better is the 14-15 6.2 vs the old one

I also agree with Kenerz and not with any of the complaining. For a stock double cab 4X4 in my case that I use for work my 2015 Silverado is an animal. I drove plenty of the L9H trucks and stock for stock there isn't even a comparison.... they feel more on par with the Gen V 5.3 trucks. I hated the GM 6 speed and still do... but this 8 speed feels pretty good even with nothing done to it tuning wise. Mine occasionally clunks and does a weird downshift but otherwise is firm, fast and pretty responsive. Some guys get duds with these trucks and even the 2014 Max trailer I drove as well as the 2015 Max trailer truck I drove did not feel as strong as mine does. All 3 were brand new with basically zero miles for my test drives so its a fair comparsion..... On a warm fall day this truck sold me while test driving with getting the back end out sideways on a straightaway with a 20 mph downshift.
I only have 3.23's behind mine and thought about 3.73.... but that will pretty well guarantee 4wd in stop and go traffic with my trailer. Even if I get too heavy on the tongue weight this thing still breaks the back tires loose on dry pavement taking off if I don't feather the throttle...and I am not panning it or anywhere close to achieve that. If I make my tongue weight a decent 10% of load.... it's a tire squealing useless good time. I run 10 ply BF KO2's in the oem sizer here too.... not the factory junk rubber. More gearing isn't go to help unless I decide to always lock out first and start in second. Even pulling 7500 lbs up steeper grades somewhere below 3000 rpm can generally maintain 65 mph... I dunno. I don't think my truck needs any gear changes to say the least lol.
This truck really makes me laugh at the Hemi/8 speed owners that have 3.21's and complain all the time it makes their truck a dog.... Well your 8 speed has a deeper first gear than the GM trans and a similar spread so if you need 3.92's to actually do anything that just proves how sad of an engine you really have lol.
I like the pull my truck has and the mileage on the highway it gets.... I really have no complaints for this engine and trans combo.

If it means anything to you my 15 6.2 a8 4x4 ran 13.2@102 (tune, longtubes, intake, catback). And as far as the Hemi goes my buddy has a 14 crew cab 8speed and was only one tenth behind me with 1 more mph. The Hemi is no slouch.

No offense but challengers with the 5.7 and a8 only muster about a 12.8-13 bone stock, so I doubt a crew cab ram is going to be within .5 seconds of that with the same engine and trans with 1k extra pounds.

With a tune and upgrades it would be. A lot happens in the first 60' with the truck. The car is gonna mph probably 112 I would bet though. My little bone stock truck didn't get ran down until 3/4 track (1/8th) by an SRT8 Challenger and an SS Camaro out of 4 runs...holeshot. SRT8 got me just past 1/2 track 2nd time. Have the slips.

He didn't mention any upgrades but that is still pretty quick for a lightly model N/A crew cab. He said it traps 103...and stock trucks trap 90s. He said it ran 13.3 and stock trucks run between 14 and 15 seconds. Something just isnt adding up. And the cars don't trap anywhere near 112 with the 5.7. They are in the 103 to 105 range. 112 is more like a 392 (6.4L) trap speed.

I wasn't trying to change the subject of the OP but the Hemi is a 2wd crew cab 8 speed with long tubes, ram air intake and a custom tune. Best pass so far is 13.3@103. I have another friend that has the same mods as him plus throttle body, ud pulley, gear swap and 17" wheels that went 12.8@106 so take that as you want but the Hemi trucks fly. A 2wd Hemi a8 is mod for mod just as fast as a 6.2 4x4 a8 Chevy/gmc

On which vehicle? My best times and weight are stated in my signature, my buddy that ran 13.3 was full weight minus spare, the one that ran 12.8 had spare and tailgate off. The 8speed Hemi trucks are no slouch by any means. Mod for mod a 2wd crew cab 8speed Hemi and 4x4 8speed 6.2 Sierra/silvy are a good race. I have another friend with a 15 crew cab Ecoboost that ran 12.5@107 full weight only mod is a custom tune. The truck game is insane right now. All 3 (GM, Mopar, and Ford) make really fast trucks.

They must be getting substantially faster. It used to take FBO, cam, heads, gears, and a 3000+ converter with weight reduction to be in the high 12s N/A. I buy the ecoboost being that fast with a tune. Boosted vehicles can pick up huge with tunes.
