Honestly I wish I had the 6L80. NA the 8L90 was awesome with this motor, it put me right in the power band instantly 4k+ rpms and will stay above 4,500rpms and bang off each shift perfectly. With the blower though, it bypasses so much of the low end tq.

I'm doing e85, headers and tune within the next 3 weeks. I'm going visit some family up north and it just so happens that they sell the e85 kit where I'm going. So why not save 15 bucks and pick it up myself.

Finally a breather today so I can comment. Enjoyed the vids guys! I am still very pleased with the 2.9 on my 5.3 6spd. I thought it ran great stock but so much better with the Whipple and canned tune. Only thing I've done is raise the shift points to 5800 iirc and change the part throttle shift mph. I got tired of it shifting at 3500-4000 with medium throttle. I changed it to shift early even at 40-50% throttle and improved the mileage and acceleration considerably because it doesn't hang in the lower gears forever now. Even loaded with my AC tools and parts in the bed weighing 5900-6k any given day I have no complaints except one. The throttle is so damn touchy with this blower I have to roll into it at every stoplight or it busts the tires loose LOL. Life with a Whipple is good!!!

What tuning did you use? I think a custom tune will gain you the same amount when you went from stock to canned whipple.IMHO
