Without getting into the biofidelic shape of the human body, it's designed for better fluid movement from steering wheel to controls, comfort and safety for the population. Theres a formula they use in the study groups for size and gender. Surprised you haven't noticed this before in other vehicles. i.e. Mercedes Benz, BMW, Porsche, Lexus, Ford etc. Before they designed a collapsable steering column some columns were installed at a slight angle to keep the column out of your chest in a frontal impact.
But if you just can't stand it change it! It will be the easiest mod your gonna do to the truck anyway.

I've met Stewart!! No complaints.

BTW, IMO GM went downhill after 98. But that is just me. Would have been nice to continue the GMT400 body with the updated chassis and drivetrain.

all of my posts are drunk postsi really liked the look of a 98 in 98. now it looks way too dated (as i'm rocking a 96 s10).

i need to get with you about some gears in a ford 8.8 rear i'm running. i dont think my 4.10 is going to get me through the 1/4 when i spray it.

IM an average 5'8" and i have no problem riding with my arm on the window and holding the steering wheel. Now granted I did have to scoot my seat up a little more than normal to be comfortable doing it.

Still love my truck though

Never buy the first new model cars or trucks.wait till they get the bugs worked out of them first. But if going complain bout the truck and don't like trade the damn truck in ..(there's your sign!)
