Boom
you launched in 4x4,did you try in AWD? Did you turn off T/C ? I tried launching my stock truck in AWD and it falls on its face major torque managment, didnt try it with T/C off.
In 2x4 it must be near impossible to hook.
Do you have plans to raise boost? or any other mods?

I am just assuming multiple engage/disengage under hard or full throttle would be harder on parts vs just putting it in 4 high. It will have to engage under some serious pressure if launching full throttle in auto. It would already be engaged before the stress of full throttle if put in 4 high. I am no mechanic but it just makes sense to me. AWD transfer cases and or diffs are slightly different than a traditional 4wd from what I understand. I think these are the same as a 2010.

I see no problem launching in auto,i think it may go back to 2wheel drive quicker.AWDs like the Astro van has a vicous clutch in the Tcase it applys the percentage of torque needed to the front. transfer cases with auto has a clutch pack that does the same thing..
Any transfer case wizards feel free to speak up. Sorry to Boom for getting off track on his post.
