First person to swap the L8T.
So since nobody is talking about it I am kind of excited about the new 6.6 in the 2020 HD's. As a disclaimer I don't actually want one of those trucks... they are ugly as hell and like the predecessor it would not surprise if the stock ecm they come with has little to no tuning support if any at all making them boring as hell.
That said it is a 10.8:1 compression 400 cubic inch LT running the same bore as the 6.2 does now with a 3.85" stroke. Yes it's an iron block but whooptee do on 100 lbs... Even stock form includes a forged crank and rods. It also has no mention of using any afm or dfm junk.. so there is a nice touch.
Pretty safe to say this thing will plug and play into any 2014 to 2018 half ton where you can actually tune it and do something with it. Cam and headers should really wake it up. And the best part... like the L96 it's just an HD truck engine. So in a few years time it will be all over in wrecking yards. It's cool to think you will see it in pick and pulls in 10 to 15 years haha.
