Cam Phasing

I know lol. It hurts though... cause you are 100% right and at the end of day I wish I would have never bought that truck lol. So instead of wasting money on another new truck I probably won't like I am putting money into my 05...... and I just bought a Hot Cam equipped LS3 crate engine from GM for my 1990 K5 Jimmy lol.

That's my donor.... or is supposed to be. I rebuilt both axles and added 4.56's with a Detroit Locker in the rear and a trutrac in the front..... a buddy wants to buy it as is though...... but I doubt it's worth the effort to sell it to him and start all over with the 90. That 86 is sooooo rotten it's not funny..... the pillar behind the doors is rotted out halfway up the boxside.... no rockers... floors gone... etc.

That's the 90.... its totally rust free too and basically all original. The guy I bought it from got it from the original owner 2 years prior and never registered it.... so i am the second owner too lol. It has like 117000 original miles on it. The 350 is junk in it ( like almost every TBI truck I have ever bought in my life) and is ready to blow up...... It has a broken piston esque fluttery knock, has good oil pressure and no miss.... but will do a steady 3" pipe worth plume of blue smoke steady at anything above 3 grand.
90 is cool as it's 241 has a VSS in it.... so a swap to an electronic trans is easy lol. It also has the relatively uncommon factory power mirrors and both work so that's a plus. Interior needs a good clean and a seat swap ( those seats suck and I have 1994 Suburban leather buckets in the 86 that are leaps and bounds nicer) along with some odds and ends. Engine is on it's way ( put a deposit in on Thursday) and I can drop off the trans for a rebuild anytime.
One of my employees has an entire family of bodymen and painters... so I can that stuff through him lol.
Flip that thing for a mint... god when I was buying these trucks were commanding prices out of this world. An 88 that was on a 6" lift and 35's with shiny but scratched two tone paint.... black paint and undercoat blasted all over everything and thus covering up some rust it had sold at an auction this spring here for $22000...... people are retarded. Another guy with one with about the exact mileage mine ( was also a 1990) had called me over my want ad I had up and wanted like $26000 for his.... and it's top was all faded and needed to be redone among looking pretty average underneath..... Stupid!

You guys are making me miss my 86 k5.... Paid $600 for it, ended up putting a gm crate 383 in it, with 4.56s on 35s with a 6" lift. the pleather seats were all torn up in it, i happened across a set of 95 tahoe front buckets and console for next to nothing that ended up in it.... Now i wish i had kept the damn thing!!!
