2000-07 was only 4.3 or 4.8.
you could even get ECSBs with a stick in 99-00

unless you start talking 2500s: then they had 6.0 / nv4500 or the zf s6-650 behind the 8.1 & diesels in all NBS except 07
Holy crap I never knew that and I'm a tech, i've seen thousands of those trucks in the shop over the years and the only manual shift truck I've seen (99 and newer) was a v6 and seen a few of those. Thanks for the info man.

EXACTLY

And for what it's worth, I've know Sam for 20 years, I'd say his IQ does rival Einstein. His brother is the same way, has something like a 186 IQ.

I have never seen a 1500 series 5.3L with a manual from the factory.

RST trucks where 4.8 with a manual.

Ahh, I didn't know much about them except they were odd ducks cause they had a v8 with manual trans. Just assumed a fancy race truck would have at least a 5.3 lol

Do you have a Vin Number?

When you built the vehicle out, The 5.3L automatically upgraded to an Auto transmission. If you tried to select the manual it would not allow it.

The crank spacer was not until 2001. They never had a 5.3L with a long crank. Only the 4.8 and 6.0L in 99-00 for the manual or 4L80E combo. I realize the crank in the 6.0 could be used in the 5.3L if balanced properly. But again I have never seen it as an option any where. The 5.3L was an upgraded engine and they new if people spent the money on them, they were likely not building out a lower cost truck. The option for a 5.3L would add around $1500 to the build which included the Auto transmission as a standard feature.

The Vans where the same way, They either had a 4.8L or a 6.0L V8 option in addition to the 4.3L V6.

i asked him years ago, but he never could find any old paperwork that still listed his VIN.
but in doing my own swap back in 09, i even went to a number of chevy dealers & looked through a few schematics with their lead techs that outlined some manual-only wiring & parts - listed for both 4.8 & 5.3 in 1999 models only... 2000+ only listed 4.8s as applicable engines.
that and a couple here-says over the years, but those have to be taken more with a grain of salt. i do remember my uncle's truck - just never had a reason at the time to check the engine code.

The only difference between the 4.8 and the 5.3L is the crank, rods and pistons combo they used. Sometimes, depending on who does the manuals they will list similar things as the same even when there is minor differences.
Junk yards list interior parts like door panels and seats from 99-02 as fitting 99-07 classic. That does not mean it's correct information. As most know the Electronic door switch assembly is Physically Different as well as the bezzle its mounted too for the year breaks. Same with the seats the cloth pattern and styling is different. The Plug for the seat is also different for the year ranges.

Any way plenty of documentation to support that it was never offered as an option. If you have a vin or something to show that it was, I sure would like to see it.
