i dunno about that. I mean I seriously doubt he tunes more of them then BB. That’s al he does all day long.

not to mention, BB tunes mostly for street driven trucks, sounds like this sam guy tunes mostly for drag cars.

I mean tuning open loop and closed loop are completely different.

Without knowing how good sam is, or really how good Justin is, you have to realize I don’t think anybody in the US has plugged a laptop into a gen 5 and tuned it more times than Justin.

I bet there are atleast 5 people here with 6.2 8sp whipple or TVS that had a BB tune and they never ran right and shifted worse and ended up going with someone else that used HP tuners.

As far as I understand it’s still not amazing no matter how you tune it
Thats like saying Jaspers builds a better engine than..Pat Musi,Rousch/Yates Hendrick racing

Have reservations about the 8spd myself, but found this and it may help you;

ain't sure of any RSTs in 99 (i thought those didn't come out until 04-05ish), but either way, the all used factory combos (to keep the warranty).
in 99, GM built the 4.3, 4.8, or 5.3 with the nv3500
2000-07 was only 4.3 or 4.8.
you could even get ECSBs with a stick in 99-00

unless you start talking 2500s: then they had 6.0 / nv4500 or the zf s6-650 behind the 8.1 & diesels in all NBS except 07
