Default 5.3s with LT-1 intakes

Ok so who's done it or know someone who's done it? I keep seeing more and more people talking about swapping LT1 intakes on 5.3Ls.

Not much gain from what I have seen, 6-7 HP up top. I swapped the truck manifold just to move up to the 86mm throttle body and not much gain there either even tuned. I would just go supercharged, and cammed and be done with it. Skip all of the small stuff!

A few have shared 2mph gains in the 1/8 and near 4mph in the 1/4 and to me that's worth doing. Trying to break 12s with bolt ons and mid to high 11s with heads and a cam

Yeah lol
I just ordered the MSD intake instead so if it hurts it it'll be for sale for those 6.2L guys

Msd intake plus headers should be good for 500 at the crank on a 6.2, stick it on your own 6.2

if the c7 intake is not netting much on the 5.3, I doubt the msd will. Must not be a big restriction like it is on the 6.2

It is the 5.3 heads that are holding us back....they suck. Not bad just not as good as the 6.2's Now if the LT-1's 6.2 heads would work these 5.3's would really fly. I'm not convinced that the MSD intake will provide that much power but if it does that's great. I would rather boost it than go through all of the other. just my thoughts

Does the 5.3 get the forged rods and crank?

Is the discplacement difference in the stroke or the bore?
