Default 2/4 drop question

I have a 2014 CC and all the drop kits I look at have drop hangers. I crawled under there today and mine is welded just like my nbs. Am I missing something?

what kit are you looking at. i am looking at DJM, Rough country, and mcgaughys but am also confused about the brakets. seems like cutting would turn me away because if i wanted to reverse it than i cant do that easily.

I have always ran mcgaughys but I her good things about the cheap rough country. Mcgaughys sells a kit with drop leafs but looking at my truck I think I would have to drop my gas tank to even do the leafs. I even called mcgaughys and they would not answer me about how the hangers go on. I also hear things about vibe issues, someone said they needed a 8deg shim and a 1 inch tranny spacer when it was all said and done.
I usually run spindles up front but they ate tie rods on my nbs, the shock spacer seems easy enough to put in though.

The flip kit will require the rear shackle brackets to be "cut" off. You have to grind the factory rivet heads off and drive the rivet body out to get the factory brackets off and the new brackets bolt in their place. It's not too bad to do, but I ain't gonna lie, it's a pain the ***. Would be much easier if you take the bed off to gain better access. If you decide to do replacement drop leafs, you will need to drop the gas tank to get the front leaf bolt out.

I just lowered my 14 using the Rough Country 2" drop strut mount (lower mount reposition). It was a easy as cake to install, I did it and shackles by myself, laying on the garage floor Friday night in 3 hours. BUT the downside to them is alignment adjustment. I ran out of adjustment on the driver's side. Luckily, it's within spec, but there is no more adjustment to be had. If I was going to do it again, I'd run a 2" drop spindle and be done with it.
