When should a guy have lock up torque converter come on looking for ideas

Default When should a guy have lock up torque converter come on looking for ideas

I have the vortec max with 2300 magna charger.8 psi shiting at 6300 with ls9 cam.rite now i have my torque converter locking up in 4th gear at 45mph,i did some reading would i benefit from it locking up in 3rd gear?if so what rpm?my truck goes real good looking for any improvements.am i shifting my truck tp early?i have ls9 cam ls7 lifters changed springs but not to the doubles>>

Are we talking about for everyday driving or just at the track?

Everyday driving but if im on it or gona do some playing around.basically a happy medium

I really wouldn't see any reason too. Are you running a stock converter?

Personally I program all of my vehicles to not lock up until in overdrive and steady cruise speed is reached. It's just my preference on how I want it to function. It really depends on your driving style and what type of daily driving you do. I do lots of highway driving and this is what has worked well for me.
