Default Weird sound at WOT w/ 5.3 2011

My truck is completely stock and at WOT it has a weird sucking/bypass valve sound at the top of 1st and 2nd. I'd just assume its the air box doing it but its louder on the driver's side. It doesn't sound like the accessories or anything.

I've never heard anything quite like it and I'm just curious if its the DBW backing the throttle off as part of the torque management or something to that effect.
I tried to get a video of it but it wasn't loud enough to pick up the sound. Think of it like slowly rolling the window down to match raising RPMs.

anyone else's do this?

This is just a guess. You still have the paper filter in there, right. It's like you or me trying to run breathing only through your nose. Get a cotton filter.. There won't be any love lost.

I know the sound your talking about OP. To be honest, I have never found out what causes it. Figured its probably the fuel pump as it increases flow to meet the higher rpm demands.

I had a similar sound with my 07 4.8 liter, that was not always present. I noticed it after I cut the bottom out of my stock airbox and attributed it to the airflow.

It's a common issue. Pick up a new NARP at autozone. Cost less than $20
