It appears that i was too quick to jump on the NVG126 from the TBSS.. Apparently they do have electronic controls.. Which sucks.. Oh well.. I am in contact with a guy who has a 6L80 and i may be having that thing.. Still working on it.. If that is the case who all has done just the 6L80 swap? What is needed?

I've posted about this same topic in the drivetrain and suspension section, but no real responses

Denali-08 is supposed to be posting up pics of how he mounted his front diff and how it all works and looks.. As i stated it does appear that to mount the diff you would have to add the 4 tabs to the frame which doesnt seem to be
that big of a deal (a welder and some undercoating and they should look and function the same as the factory mounts)... There should be some kind of factory frame measurement spec sheet that would tell you where to mount the tabs or cups.. I am going to check today about possibly getting the factory tabs, not that it would be hard to bend up a set from plate steel.. I am waiting patiently to see how exactly Denali-08 did his, if his works and seems easier then that is how i shall do it..

I am thinking that i may end up using my 4L60 again.. the 6L80 seems like alot of work and the output on the 6l80 wouldnt mate with the NVG149.. I think it would take a input for it all to mesh correctly..

I am thinking that it will still be awesome, but there will definately be a gear swap along with this conversion.. something like 3.90s..

BTW KEEP THE POSTS COMING.. Im going to go dig for a frame spec sheet..

Did denali08 ever get a chance to get some pics up or did I miss it?

I know what you mean ig109. I always said I would just do the 2WD 6L80 instead of the AWD version but then after a couple of days of driving a supercharged AWD TBSS I changed my mind. But after doing some research I just dont know if its worth it. I mean I already have the 6.2/2WD 6L80 in the garage, should I really sell this combo just so I can get an AWD combo which may or may not work. I will admit though that an AWD RCSB would be pretty sick.

Hell yes it would be sick.. It is going to take me a while to gather all the parts needed.. but i think i will still try and do it.. Im going to do some things to the truck to get me by for while so i dont have the itchy foot so badly.. I am going to be running the 4L with the NVG149 on the back.. I have found the front diff from an AWD escalade and it comes with it all, mounts, axles, hubs.. Just a matter of getting things lined up to get it all.. I am really interested in this swap for more than just the clean dry pavement traction.. I am tired of getting hung in the snow!!! It snowed 2 inches last night and i didnt think i was going to get up the hump to turn off of my road..
Sad..

Well im in part hunting mode.. Granted i could throw a fortune at it and buy it all right now, but i am trying to do this on the cheap.. Found a cheap transfer case.. going to go look at that this weekend.. Then i will need the diff, dshaft, axles, and hubs from an AWD NNBS something.. Im working on it.. But its slow going..
