Negative...it's a 2010 with the L9H...no DOD on this one...just VVT...but I'll be sure to double check that...

There is no DOD on the L9H or any pickup 6.2. I wish I knew how to stop this rumor from its constant circulation on the boards because somebody is eventually going to end up buying hardware they don't need based on this, if it hasn't happened already.

When I put in the order for my truck back in 2010 I knew next to nothing about these things except for what I read in a few forums...the main thing I did not want was DOD/AFM and the dealer said I would have to go 6.2 to avoid that...boy am I glad I forked the extra money for that upgrade!!!

It's a good upgrade for sure

Yeah Allgonoshow, I think it's a combination between that and the DOD 6.2 L94 in the Escalade and Yukon Denali. There are only three large-displacement truck engines with VVT/AFM: the VortecMax L76 6.0, the luxury SUV L94 6.2, and the Hybrid's LFA and LZ1 6.0s. It gets a bit difficult to help people when people keep throwing other engines without AFM/DOD in the mix like the HD LY6, the L92, the L9H, etc. It causes a great deal of unnecessary confusion on this site, and seriously skews search results both here and on third-party search results from Google and other sites. I just wish there was a way to keep the misinformation to a minimum.

For sure

I get in when I can, but there really should be a sticky that is updated when new engines come out clarifying which GenIV+ engines have which technology (as GenIII and below have no unique technology) and which trucks have said engines. I'd be willing to put together the initial list if necessary, but it would (hopefully) mitigate our forum's contribution to the internet mess of misinformation regarding this topic.

youngone2011, I hope you realize that I am not specifically ranting on you on this; this just keeps happening over and over with multiple culprits and I really just want to try to prevent anybody from making a really expensive mistake.

no worries!!! lol ... i was not saying he needed it just merely suggesting him to check into it. lol when i went to do my cam swap on my 2011 4.8L people didnt relly know it had vvt.... so long story short ... we ended up having to put my water pump and radiator back onto the truck and didnt get to do the swap until later on in the week ....

my friend derek said he had to do a dod delete in his 08' 6.2, so thats what made me think of it...

that is all... lol
