Straight off the book.
With engine in number one firing position
Tighten
1 - 2 - 7 - 8 exhaust rocker to 22ft lbs
1 - 3 - 4 - 5 intake rocker to 22ft lbs
Rotate engine 360*
Tighten
3 - 4 - 5 - 6 exhaust rocker to 22 ft lbs
2 - 6 - 7 - 8 intake rocker to 22 ft lbs.

When I did all that some I got 1/8 - 1/4 turn so obviously I messed up first time. I went back threw to 27ft/lbs and got a very consistent 1/4

Since engine was warm I decides to go to 30 ft lbs

Holding at 3500 in bay...sounds ok so far. Valve train all together sounds quieter

I spoke to soon. Returned after driving at 3500 in second gear for a bit to test.
I'm almost wondering exhaust noise? Any ideas?

7.4 isnt the right preload for the LS7 lifters.
7.425" is the ones you will need. That .025" is enough to cause valve train noise

Po171 is lean code I would venture to say a tune possibly needs some tweaking if you havent had time to tweak it out yet
