08 5.3 goin from 3.73 to 4.10! its noticeable?



and the second question..

its my Transmission the same on the 06 classic model?
im talking about being interchangeable plug and play.. 4l60e.

gears are worth the change and noticeable. Don't know about the trans.

i've heard plenty of tiems from 3.73 to 4.10's not so much.

i woudl suggest tru-trac to your 3.73's

Word. I have heard of people changing and noticeing that much of a difference.


But yes the trans is plug and play swap.

Truckshop went from 3.73s to 4:10s and he cant be happier. i went from 3:42s to 4:10s! thats the best thing i could have done, other than the engine swap, and converter.

i say change them, the tranny is also interchangeable.

Ive been debating this also, i have 3.73 right now and considering 4.10's...
but i had also heard that its not much difference from 3.73 other than bad MPG? lol

yea i hear it's not that much to justify spending all that money.

unless you get thea gears for dirt cheap and install kit. then retune.

Transmission has to be from an 07+ GMT900, older 4L60Es do not have the ISS (Input Shaft Speed Sensor) that is required for use in the GMT900 trucks.

I had an 07 classic with 4.10 gears (the wreck) and my newr one has 3.73s in it. I would perfer the 4.10s. Less downshifting and more towing capacity. Your gonna get shitty mileage anyway. The truck will have better throttle responce and will probably run about 2600-2900 rpms on the hwy at 70. TO me, there is definatly a difference, but both of my trucks was/is 2500s.
