I need to replace the air filter in my '08 5.3 Silverado. I read up on the XDI truflow replacement filters and they seem pretty good. I don't want a filter that has to be oiled. Any reccommendations and where to buy?

The TF filters are not "oiled" but they have a tacky substance that gets sprayed on it...During the summer last year all the tacky stuff got all over the air box and it was a mess...

Id try and get a dry flow filter from AEM or AFE

 

Same here. I went with the True Flow intake kit (intake tube and filter). Pulled the filter out a few months back to check it and noticed the bottom of my stock air box full of the clear tacky stuff from the filter. It took me over an hour to clean up the mess (imagine cleaning up a cup of tree sap in the bottom of your air box). Major PITA!

I bought a K&N replacement filter and called it a day. I've never used any other dry filters, but if they are anything like True Flow, I'd steer clear.
