Towed for the first time this weekend
#1
So I towed for the first time this weekend since doing all my mods. Towed my bro in law's wakeboard boat and the denali did great. About a 30 minute trip one way with a mix of stoplight to stoplight driving and highway driving. I have a tru-cool 40k and the trans only got up to 160 and it was pretty hot on saturday in Austin, TX. Had the cruise on 72 mph on the highway and it felt like the boat wasn't even there. Overall, I'm really happy.

If you ever plan on towing with a decent amount of Tounge weight, invest in some helper bags, they make a huge difference.
I towed ~7000# sand this weekend on about a 1600# trailer. I like the fact that i can tow down the backroads at 40mph pushing the stock converter the whole time and its unlocked, TFT's never got over 175. And thats with 1500rpms of slip.
That trucool 40k is worth its weight in gold!!

Live in north Austin near where 290 and 183 intersect. Work in Georgetown. It would be cool to meet some other truck guys and grab a beer sometime. If we ever do meet up you are welcome to drive my truck and see how you like it.
