Question Tossin around some Ideas...

This little stock 4.8 isn't enough for me... Its got some problems as it is so i've been thinkin about doin a few things.
I still got 50k miles until the warranty goes out so I'm just brainstorming and getting things in order right now...

I'm gonna keep the 4.8 but I eventually want to get a Whipple, ARH Headers & Y and a Built 4L80

What Cam and Stall would best suit a setup like this???

A whipple would work ok but honstly Id turbo it. The 4.8s seem to respond best to turbos over blowers but if you are set in stone on a blown setup I suggest a tvs1900 from magnacharger..

For the cam lingenfelter has the GT2 cam that makes for a good blower cam and a circle d 3000-3200 stall would work

I'd rather have the Torque from a SC. This Crew Cab on 22s is hard to get movin...

So you think the 2300 would be to big for the little 4.8? I only wanna have to buy 1, if the 4.8 blows I'll just swap a 6.0 in there.
I doubt she'll see much track time since I got my Maro for that.
This is my DD and I'm just wantin a little more pep... and maybe be able to outrun a few H/C F-Bodys

A properly set up turbo system and tune will make more than enough power to get your truck moving on those 22s. Look at foose04, hes making 6xxHP on a stock bottom end 4.8 and is nearly in the 10s

The 2300 will be way too big imo for a 4.8. 2300s are for large CI engines.

I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to this Turbo/Supercharger decision

Right now as my truck sits I have hardly any power below 3k rpm and even once I'm past that it's a slow climb.

But whichever I decide, Turbo or SC, it will be quite some time until the funds arrive so I guess my cam choice doesnt really need to be based on either of those right now. So with that said, what cam would be best suited for NA with a 3000 stall? I want alot more down low but I don't wanna fall off up top either.

A turbo guy is going to tell you to go turbo and a blower guy is gonna say go blower. Me being a blower guy im going to say go blower. Seeing how you have another car for going fast why not keep the truck simple? I'm Partial to Lysholm because I own one but considering the fact you can bolt it on and load their tune with the supplied programmer, why mess around going turbo? Are you willing to spend $8000+ for the things you've mentioned? And a 2300 would be fine on a 4.8

I'm willing to spend what ever it takes to make this thing run better...

I forgot that I have a cam from the 06 GTO I had, How would that work with this little 4.8?

How well/poorly would it perform with the stock converter?

Just tossin things around man, It's the title of the thread. I also stated in my other post that I would be focusing my cam selection around Natural Aspiration since the funds for FI won't be here for a while...

...But, Since I do already have this cam, how well would it perform in this 4.8 with a tune?
