Default To those with D.O.D...............

No I'm not appologising, thogh I do know some are sorry that they have it. Reason I ask is because I'm eyeballing a new truck and wanted to ask those with D.O.D. (adhd, just kidding) if it really does make a difference in gas mileage? I know the sound is less than enchanting when the deactivation is engaged, like a looooooong, bad fart. Are there any issues like a major delay getting back into normal mode to like pass some dork on a 2 lane...............

I just turned mine off about 2 weeks ago. Getting ready for a cam swap. Gas mileage has suffered about 30%.

Milage depends on alot of stuff, highway, city, flat, hilly, slow, aggressive.
Slow, flat highway, dod will make a big difference, less in other conditions.
As far as the transition in and out of dod, it is seamless.
If you have performance exhaust, the sound sucks in 4cyl mode

Hmm, yeah- I don't do a majority of hiway driving; I'm starting to conclude that I'd be better off with VVT, and a tune of course...............

i turned mine off and notice about -1 mpg difference. Most of my driving is on interstate though. not much in city. Just get a 6.2L. you'll be better off with VVT.

I drove the first ~10k miles with it on averaged ~18.5mpg town and highway... turnded it off for ~20k miles and averaged ~18.5mpg town and highway... turned it back on recently and am averaging ~16.5mpg now... been driving a lot more miles lately though... haven't noticed the "fart" sound you guys mention though with it on...
