Default Smaller tire?

What might be the smallest profile tire that i can put on the spare 17" steel rim that came with my 08 yukon? What size can i run safely for the weight of my truck?

well you could probly go 40 series without the diff hitting the ground but i'm not sure why you'd wanna do that
maybe go to the 2wd tire size if you wanna go smaller and get 245/70r17

I just bought brand new tires and i dont want to waste them when i burnout next sunday..i want to just slap on the steel rims in the rear..i want to buy some used tires that are smaller so its a little easier on my truck.
