Default Question for those who have traded in a modded truck

So I found a crew cab 4x4 6.2 truck and just started talking to the dealer. They are out of state so most of the stuff is being done via email. How have the dealers reacted to those of you trading in a truck that is modded and should still be under warranty?

I would imagine you get little to no credit for aftermarket stuff. With my 95 Bronco (full JL stereo, tuned, bolted, 4.56s, locker, warn hubs, 6" suspension lift on 35's) I was offered $3k trade in and sold it to a private party for $10k.

Gus, just make sure you know what the trade in value is before you go. Check KBB, Edmunds, NADA and AutoTrader, and be brutally honest with yourself about the condition of your rig when you estimate the value.

Good luck!

They offered 17000 which is the "rough condition" trade in since there is Zero warranty on my vehicle.

They will take it in, BUT they will give you bottom $$. They won't sell it if your cammed/boosted/ and or custom painted they send them to auctions.

Deal fell through. Looks like I'm keeping it.
