Default Question on swapping from chrome to painted bumper caps on nnbs

I have a 2012 Silverado 1500 with chrome bumper caps and fogs. Someone backed into the passenger side and it left a small crack so it was my opportunity to swap to painted end caps. After buying the caps and painting them, I've realized the bumper filler trim pieces are different! Does anyone know which filler I will need and if I'll need any other parts for the cap replacement? Thanks in advance!

can you upload a pic? if its the kind im thinking of, they just pull off with a heat gun and then use goo gone and some elbow grease to remove the residue

I'm not sure what you mean about the the filler? the end caps are all the same for the silverado, minus or add fog light holes

Well, one would think..there's a small plastic trim piece above the cap that fits onto the top of the bumper caps...it's hard to explain but with the caps off, the tops are different and the ones that are on my chrome cap do not line up correctly on the painted ones...I'll try to post some pictures later...

There is a difference between 1500 and 2500 bumper caps. But AFAIK all the 1500's are the same physical size regardless if its got fogs or not. Maybe a pic will shed some light as to what your talking about...

Sorry man, I forgot to update this thread a few months ago...I just didn't use the black plastic filler...went together great...would only be noticeable if I pointed it out!
