How hard will it be to re-wire the column shifter so that I can use the tap up tap down feature?
After you install a new wiring harness from a similar truck with a 6L80e you'll need to use a BCM OS from a 6sp auto if you want the Tap up/down to work. The programing for this is (or at least was in my case) in the BCM. So you'll need to use the VIN from a 6sp auto truck for your OS in the ECM, BCM and Cluster.

I didn't save the wiring diagrams but a dealer should be able to print out the wiring diagram for you for the shifter stalk and BCM. You'll need one from both VIN's to make it work. I seem to recall having two sheets for each one showed the wiring the other had a list of how and where the wires connected to the plugs.

Also when you pick the VIN/OS you'll be using for your 6sp wiring harness make sure you match it up with your existing fuel system module or you will be in for some extra work and expense.

Wow, this is getting more complicated than I thought it be.

I guess I'm gonna have to start looking into this a little more.

Thanks guys.

I wish I could.....but then I wouldn't have an RST Silverado....and I doubt any six speed automatic RSTs will be popping out soon since Regency closed right after I bought mines

So if I get the tranny, cluster, and fuel module under the same vin number, everything should work fine? And how would I be able to reprogram everything for the new vin?

Can I use the vin number of my buddys escalade? He has a 6.2/2WD 6L80 (he does have the upscale cluster though) so we should have pretty much the same setup once I get everything in
