6L90, been very impressed so far. When towing my wife's Trans Am I was surprised that I didn't have to brake nearly as much as I did with my 2000 Silverado 1500.
For a daily driver and my requirements it clearly exceeds.
I was talking about a lift and my wife said "Why would you lift it? I can barely get in it now. I wouldn't be able to drive it then!" I replied "...but you could still wash it, right?"

I think it's dumb that gm offers a 6.2 1500 but only a 6.0 2500... I mean it worked out for me but it doesn't make any sense!

The 6.2 is a higher compression engine (Premium Fuel Recommended) and has an aluminum block.
Most HD truck buyers don't / won't use anything other than 87 octane fuel, and the iron block is more durable in high GVW applications.
