Thanks, Daryn. Non-VVT camshaft, correct?

Probably a bit too much duration for my deal, I'm afraid. A hint of a lope at idle would be OK, but this "ain't no race truck". Gotta be able to sell it in a couple of years without jumping through hoops, LOL!

You'd be better off asking Patrick directly - patrick@guerragroup.com . He charged me $400 for the full ECM tune - including wide-band O2 tuning on the dyno for WOT fueling and the TCM tune.

I've never spent a better $400, I can tell you that much!

Thumbs down

Well - to say that I'm thoroughly disappointed would be the understatement of the decade!

Disgusted with the whole damned deal would be more like it . . .

I have absolutely NO idea what to do with my expensive, sluggish turd of a truck . . .

$2000 worth of headers and tune . . . and I gained a whole .14 ET and 3.5 MPH in the 1/4 mile!

Driving style? I was leaving at just above idle, which should help the TC to flash higher than leaving at a higher RPM - is this incorrect? My rediculously big P305/50 tires (I was still running the OEM 275/55's at Nelsons race last year - where I ran a best of 14.57 @ 94)? Need to hire Patrick to tune my junk at the track? 6K RPM shift points too high? Who freaking knows?

As I expected the scales were closed, so I still have no clue what my lead-sled actually weighs.

Got three passes in before the rains came. First pass was a throw-away as I blew the tires off. I was considering trying one of my other ECMs - then the rains came.

Obviously the 2.2+ 60' times are an issue, but where's the other 3-4 MPH I was expecting?

Looking at "Aea47's" mods and 1/4 mile performance, what am I doing wrong?

Sorry for the long rant!

How was the weather? Area47 is Ext Cab and was running e85, if tuned properly I'd imagine E85 is worth 2-3 tenths...

Your 1/8 mile trap should be closer to 80mph, You could be pulling timing from KR...do you monitor?

I'm pissed too man, my last runs were garbage couldn't hook in 1st or landing on 2nd gear...

Thanks for asking, and for chiming in, Mark. I need several shoulders to cry on . . .

Went to the drag times weather calculator right after I posted, and it shows that the DA was -138', yet it "corrected" mt ET and MPH VERY slightly to the good - like -.02 ET and +.2 on the MPH. Negligible . . .

Maybe I need to purchase EFI Live and a laptop for logging my runs? Hell - I'm SO lost.

I can tune my Firebird no problemo - I LOVE Q-Jets, but I'm a STUPID rookie when it comes to computer controlled tuning!

A couple other thoughts came to mind . . .

I made all of my passes with the shift lever in "Manual" mode, "M4" to be exact. NOT with tow/haul mode enabled, of course.

Also, prior to my burnout, I switched off traction control AND stabilitrack - is that the correct mode to make drag strip runs?

Yea, with EFI live you could monitor knock retard and dozens of other sensors that could help you figure out what's going on. Maybe you had some bad gas, your dyno was too strong for those times...

Oh...I might know! maybe because you were in "Manual shift mode"

Did Pat_G modify your "TUTD" tap-up-tap-down shiftpoints, that's what I use to adjust manual mode. If your TUTD settings are stock she may be shifting way early? Did you have an eye on the tach?

Great thoughts, Mark, and I wish that were the issue, but I had the lever in Manual Mode, but in "M4". I was watching the tach - it indicated my upshifts were right at 6K - most definitely higher than it used to shift before Pat G tuned the TCM.

Wish I'd had a way to log my runs, as your thought concerning bad gas is just about the only issue that makes any damned sense to me at this point. Sure wish I could get to the track more often . . .
