Sold my 07 Vmax in signature with ALL the stuff on it. Got a good $ for it.
It was leased so bud took over the lease and gave me $$$ for the mods.
Kinda sorry to see it go as it was a well sorted truck but I will duplicate it.
Bought exact same truck in 4wd. 2008.
I need a 4x4 to pull my boat of the water, 2wd wasn't doing it. Last time at a shitty launch
I had to get my bud to tow me out with his 4x4.
Got 14k off the sticker, which is 5k less than I paid for the 2wd.
New truck came with 17's, sold them and bought used OEM 20"s and put 285/55/20 Michelin LTX-A/T2's on it. Nice tires, but heavy.
Put Magnaflow catback on today as well. This thing is quiet with Magnaflow and no headers. I might try the American Racing headers on this one or maybe Kooks will have a kit by the time I am ready
I have Mcgaughs 2" spindles and shackles ordered and will pull the rear blocks out for 2-3 drop. Mcgaughs now sell 2" spindles with out having to buy a full front/rear kit. I don't want to change the rear springs and f'up my tow rating.
The guy that does my work says he has never lowered a 4x4, it is against his religion. He'll do it though, I write his pay check.
I'll tell you one thing though, after driving a tuned Vmax for a year, you really see how much the factory tune sucks. I mean, when you step on it, it goes blaaaaahhh, waits for a while and then goes.
Gotta get a HPT licence for the new truck and put a tune in it asap, hopefully not too much difference in 07-08 tune.
Would have been nice to get a 09 6.2 but there is not going be be big discounts on 09's
for a while and I am happy with what I have.
Sorry for the book.....I'll try and get pics of both trucks together
Here is the 07 and reason I need a 4x4

I'd get the beltech spindles if I were to do it over again.
Been using them lately over the macgagheys stuff because I have been tossing the rear flip kits in the trash, what a waste. I have found that the beltechs are a nice product( come powder coated) install nicer and have a tighter turning radius.
I may just swap over to a set of beltechs anyway, depends how motivated I am.

mcgaughs sell spindles without rear kits now,
I had belltech spindles on the 07, worked ok but i don't like the small nut on the bottom ball joint and i think mchaughs have a better angle for the tierods too. i'll see when they get here.
How is your truck working, put fi on it yet?

well I'm speaking from vette headers........but my boost car came with kooks, my NA car has american racing, both are 1 7/8th's headers. Well the american racing headers go in and come out with little to no headaches, like they belong, their C6 headers are even easier (did 1 3/4's in a friend's 08 with a blower, 3 hours tops on a lift) my Kooks........thank god every time I've had to put them in the motor was going back in.......they're an absolute nightmare. Having dealt with both shops face to face in person......Nick at american racing is a great guy. My sub was supposed to be the prototype vehicle for the headers until his partner bought an 07 tahoe. Kooks.......they've screwed me, screwed a few of my buddies on 4-5K jobs on stepped setups in race cars with going over estimates, taking 3x's the amount of time to get stuff done (fair enough if you're busy fine, but don't take the car in, we'll do the rest of the **** that needs to be done in the meantime vs. letting it sit there), Calling up with no warning adn demanding a car be picked up the next day or else its sitting outside in the rain because you don't have room, finally got it done and want to get paid. Or the best was the hearse on unique whips for tony stewart they hacked a 572 into and blew the rear up and needed it fixed by noon......my buddy got it done, and didn't even get a thank your or the credit he was promised. George R is the best!
So given the choice go with the american racing. Back to back tests on my buddy's 06 Z06 (when they first came out) the american racing made the most power on that application......same day same dyno etc. Also go in the easiest and a great bunch of guys to deal with.
