You aren't going to get a new engine, 6.0L or otherwise. They will pop the tranny off, replace the seal or seal cover as required, and reassemble.

I know a couple guys who had this, they had no issues getting it fixed (here, anyway). They will add a dye to the oil, you drive for a couple weeks, then come back and they will confirm and repair leak.

This is awesome, I'll keep it in mind...

It MIGHT be the Rear Main, but most likely it is your CPS O-ring that is the cause of your leak. The oil near the starter and on the starter bolts indicates it's the CPS leak. It took my dealer 3 tries to fix mine. 1st try they changed the oil pan. 2nd try they changed the Rear Main and the Oil Cooler manifold gasket, 3rd try they changed the CPS seal and it was finally fixed.

well, i got it back yesterday

i called at 1030, they never got to my truck, i called back at 230 (about to leave work) they are just putting the seal in. he put me on hold for 5 min.
service guy: "the tech said it will be ready by 5pm sir"
me: "ok great, i'll be there at 5 to get my truck."
i get there at 5. i stand behind a couple who are talking with the service guy. another guy walks up and starts talking with the 3 people. ok understandable, your running a business and you take care of your customers. 15min pass and they are still surfing the internet looking for a picture of a car in china WTF?!?!?!?!? i've been standing there about 20 min now and they finally leave. wow thanks its my turn.
me: im here for my 08 GMC CC
service guy: "oh sir your truck has been done since 3pm i thought you were going to come then."
me: no you told me 5 so here it is 5:21, and ive been here since 5pm."
service guy:"oh sorry sir, i didnt realize you were here for something."
me: "yeah im here to get my truck."
service guy: "ok heres the keys and have a great day"
then i decided to check on 4:10s
i ask the parts guy about getting 4:10s installed and he was so dumb he asked if it was in the transmission! WTF? well they have a list price of 940 roughly then another column that says Cost above it thats priced at 485 roughly. i asked why are you giving me the list price when the cost says a different price. he said it is nothing that concerns the gear set sir.
wow sorry for the rant...it's over.

no oil leak so far...so im going to void the warrenty on my rear end soon (3yr-36k) then it goes to a 5yr-100k warrenty that "Only some parts are covered" wtf is that? lol

Checked my truck today. It has been one month and no leak yet. Why the dealer could not fix it the first time I will never know.

I ordered my Headers, I have my shift kit, servos to install. I already have a custom tune.
what RPM is everyone shifting these trucks at? The guy who tuned my truck put it at 5800 in every gear. my old truck was 5900 1-2, 6200 2-3 and 3-4
