Default Oil changes

My wifes truck is a 2012 GMC Sierra Crew 5.3 all stock minus the muffler. its got about 130 thousand miles on it now. It seem the oil changes are becoming more frequent on this truck(I change it when it says it needs it). it doesn't leak or burn any that I've noticed, I never have to add any between changes. is this common for this engine? or do I have a problem?

the cam and lifters were changed out a couple years ago under warranty.

The oil change indicator is just an algorithm, there is no oil clarity sensor or oil dilution sensor, just math; so its possible as the truck ages the equation changes and asks for more frequent changes. My 02 is at 188k and its pretty consistent between 5 and 7500mi notifications.

Honestly, of all the things to worry about in life, this would be at the bottom of my list. 130k is nothing, and if its changed from 6800mi to 5500mi, I wouldnt be upset. Could be that the only things thats changed is your perception, or maybe the truck is idling more, not warming up fully, weather is cooling off, etc. Those equations are pretty complex, they take into account ~20 variables.

Wouldnt lose sleep over it. Change the oil, reset the light and move on with life.

I'm not worried about it. I just change, reset and go. it just popped into my head and I thought i'd ask.
