just buy the 4.8/6speed. grab a 6.2 have the rod/main cap bolts swapped out to ARP, throw a spec'd cam into it, mill the heads if you want to stay N/A, put a 3200 converter and put it on DRs. you'll have 12.4-12.99 easy.
my CCSB has a 6.2/milled heads/cam/LTs/3200 converter/4:10s(it had 3:42s when i ran it) in 96* weather it went 13.0 @ 103.8mph. my truck is faster on my street tires from a roll, but can't do any kind of 25mph and below without it blowing the tires off of it.
Daryn C went 12.4x with his SCSB with a 6.2/milled heads/mild p&p heads/LTs/3600 converter/3:73s/dunno what size DR/Slick.

RPM is a place that has a lot of knowledge, my buddy works there. High end stuff rolls in and out of there.
Just spend the money for the 6.2 and be done, don't waste the time on looking for a 6.2 and what not. If you can afford it go for it.
I take that you are in the Claymont/Wilmington area?

Then get the 5.3. Many people have the 4.8 and have done with it. I just come's down to personal preference. Either of the engine's are going to be awesome!
I skimmed over the whole thread and miss the 20 minutes away, I apologize.
