Default NNBS tune traceable??

well iv heard yes and no...
can a tune on a NNBS be traced if it is set back to stock before returning to dealer...
im just curious since my trucks still got another 2yrs of drivetrain warranty...
its alrdy got a custom hp tuners tune..

if they dig through the tech 2 far enough they can see how many times you have flashed it. in short.
yes. even if flashed back to stock.

ya that what iv heard skeet....
kinda suks since i know that dam 4l70e in a CC 4wd with 33s isnt gonna last 4ever lol...
i was just wondering if it pops could i return the tune to stock and take it in...
truck wont be getting any more mods till after warranty ends..

That's why it's usually a good idea to buy a separate ECM to put the tune on...but I've also heard you can see how many times the power is interrupted between the battery and ECM, but that's hearsay...Although if you bring it to the dealership with a rod through the block expecting a new engine on warranty, expect them to do everything in their power to deny the claim if they suspect anything with the tune.

rod through what bolt??? hehe we know what you mean.... i seriously doubt they would look into it unless they were having to replace an engine or a transmission....

Even with the tech 2 you cannot see how many times it has been flashed. However, in the event of an engine or transmission transfer case of differential failure that is suspicious gm has us take a digital picture of the screen on the tech 2 that displays the vin and all of the calibration numbers stored in the PCM. Then attach this info as an email to the powertrain engineers and then off of that information from what we have been told they can then tell what parameters have been tinkered with when the tuner did the tune.

ya thats what i figured.. well hopefully the tranny doesn't go boom..
and if it does and they deny me, 4l80e hear I come haha..

Makes me wonder about my 08 now I only have about 36000 left on the powertrain warranty
