6 speed, 6.2, modern interior, better ride, and IMO, better exterior. Win, win, and mroe win. I hated when they went to the "ninja eye" headlights on the Chevy trucks. The new bodystyle did have to grow on me a bit though, at first I really preferred the GMCs.

Yeah, I was looming at 800 and 900 VortecMax trucks to try to save money so I would be ahead of the game to pay the truck off and buy a Z06, but the prices on used VMaxs really weren't low enough to really motivate me towards the used trucks. I love my 6.2 anyway, and the 6speed/3.73 combo is ****. Although with my tires I may be tempted to stuff some 4.10s in her at some point.

one thing that i hate about the nnbs is that you cant even breath on the top bed rails to hard, it will dent it slightly... i hate that!!!!

I've got a 2007 RCSB new body style Sierra and couldn't be happier with it...even with the sucky 4 speed. Mileage is impressive, it rides great, handles good, looks good, and has not given me any trouble at all mechanically. Power is ok. Interior stuff is debatable, depends on which trim level you have and what you like...work truck models are horrible, no chrome trim or upgrades anywhere. I did a 700 mile trip in the truck and only stopped once for fuel and food and felt great after getting out. My 97 would have been sore back, the 85 sore back and bottom, my old 72s you would have hemorrhoids after that trip!! LOL
They are tall for sure, even with a 3" drop in the back still hard to reach over the sides...and like mentioned already, thin metal too. Sign of the times.
I have heard of issues with DOD and the aluminum block 5.3's (heat dissipation uneven causing oil burning?),rear main seals leaking, short brake life, my only real complaint is the rock chips on lower part of the doors (esp lower edge which is exposed), box leading edge...that's because they use gravel and salt up here in the winter so to be expected...should maybe have put on mud flaps but they look silly.
People do forget they are TRUCKS so if you want world class leather interiors and stuff like that, buy a luxury car.
I'd buy another one. Waiting to see what the new design looks like in MY 2013 (its only a year out or so).
All IMHO of course.

We've had ours about a week and I will say going from a GMT800, to the 900 there's a lot to get used to. The ride how it drives and the exterior has me sold. The interior is so-so unless you get the high dollar LTZ etc. Bottom line is, there's always these concerns when you go to a new design and in most cases you have to take the bad with the good. I agree the interior isn't as plush as the older trucks with the velour door panel inserts etc.. But they have made improvements elsewhere that make up for it IMO.

I just moved up from a '99 Silvy ecsb 5.3 3.73 4sp. I shopped a lot for used rigs and couldn't believe how high they were compared to what I could get a new one for. EVERYTHING about this '11 is better.
Well, the ugly fake wood on parts of the dash isn't my favorite - I may swap it out for the brushed silver from an Avalanche or get it painted flat black or flat silver. Some day. When I get tired of just driving around and smiling.
I'll emphasize what pewterliftedz said about not getting the 5.3 with 3.08 gears, I drove one and couldn't believe how weak it felt to me. Actually, if they had had the new 5.3 (45 more hp than my '99) with 4.11 gears and the 6 sp I might have got that and been happy (happy enough, but I would have forever been tormented by wishing I had got the 6.2).
******* and beer!

The only thing I can struggle to find as a "dislike" of my NNBS is the DOD. It's annoying if you have a header-back exhaust and even more annoying when you want to put a cam in.
I'm fortunate enough to have one with the rear window defroster too, not sure if they still make them with that option, but it is worth its weight in gold to me during winter here.

yeah the 6-speed, modern interior, and relative lack of financial incentive to buy a used truck with a bunch of miles vs a brand-new truck all motivated me to buy my new Silverado.
