Default newbie looking for help

Hi everyone im new to the performance truck world. Im used to the old school carb stuff (i have a 70 gmc and a 12 sec nova) but am not used to fule injection. What i have is a 2011 gmc sierra 1500 with the 5.3. What i want to know is what would be the best mods i could do on a budget and also keep the truck as my daily driver. Any help would be great thank you!

with 1200, you could do longtubes, exhaust, Cold air intake, and a tune that would get you around 1200 + or - some. And maybe even throw a a cam in it with respective parts to support cam. eventually do a converter and you'd be putting down some decent power by the end of all the mods.

Just get the AirRaid MIT Tube and keep your factory airbox. install a good filter and leave it at that for the intake.
Programmers....if you wanna go that route vs Custom Tune. im not sure what works best on those..

my buddy tried a bullydog on his and it wouldnt shift out of first gear. so he traded it for another one and got the same results.. haha not good.

So why just the tube with the stock air box and not the whole kit.

Stock airbox is plenty for a stock 5.3.. and it pulls air from the passenger side fender instead of from the engine bay. = cooler IATs most the time.

Programmers are largely not worth the money. Plan your mods well, and get a professional tune done.
