you really cant compare any type of broken in truck to a truck off the lot. When i drove mine off the lot it would not spin the tires if it's life depended on it. I was very dissapointed, but after i broke it in, it was a different story.

like i said every little bit helps, its a combination of weight savings, not just one thing, yeah the spare alone isnt much but they saved weight were they could.

there are so many people that are ignorant and dont understand the overall gearing effect on performance.
take your pre 07 non 6L80e regular equiped 3.73 rear gear truck and put a 2 speed powerglide in it. your truck will be slow as hell off the line with factory power.
those that just dont get it, oh well. for the ones on the cusp, there you go. Rearend gear is only one factor in getting any vehicle to come out of the hole quickly. transmission gearing and converter are the other non-engine and weight issues.

Agreed, and I'm not really interested in better mileage, I'm interested in making it go faster...10 lbs here, 5 lbs there...it all adds up...
