I just looked it up on the Chevy site: standard gear is 3.08 -

Not what I'd call a "performance" ratio.

Well, judging by the tach and speedo i'd say it has 3.73's. We'll have to wait and see. My money is on gm getting a high hp # with a 2 stroke like power band. I like the look of the new truck but hope gm didn't dumb it down to a 9 second to 60 truck. I'm still trying to figure out how they give the 14 5.3 a higher tow rating than the 13 6.2 nht.

Check the video, 35 mph/5500rpm 1st gear, 60mph/5500rpm 2nd gear...definitely not 3.08 gears.

Has to be 3.42 as you have either 3.08 or 3.42 available with the 5.3 just like the current trucks. Isn't 2 stroke power band and useless high horsepower numbers coupled with lackluster performance all the modern truck buyers want? Must be because that's what you get from most manufacturers.

That is similar to the rpm mine runs with 3.73's. the guy quoted the high tow rating of that truck so I would assume it has the optional 3.73's. Side note, I just read that new this year, you will no longer be changing the front diff lube. "sealed for life" what a joke. Also, the 6.2 this year will also include the great afm that everyone loves so much.

Just did a build and price on the US site on a 2014 crew cab. You have 3.08's standard and 3.42 optional like the current model trucks. That's it......... They bumped up the power, put a heavier rear end under them, finally added rear discs to all again and now have an extra 1000 lbs tow capacity on the 2014. They may as well seal the front diff. Out of a 1000 used trucks you might have 20 that have had any of the diff fluids changed in 150000 miles of run time.

yet a higher tow rating than the 13 6.2 with 3.73's. I did just read car &drivers review, looks a little better, here's their statement.

"The 5.3-liter V-8’s full 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque are delivered close to redline, meaning it needs to be worked to hustle. Hammer down, the V-8 motivates the 5605-pound Silverado crew cab to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 15.3 seconds at 92 mph"

My problem with the sealed front diff is WHEN a seal leaks and you have to deal with their stupidity then. There's no reason to not have a fill and drain plug.
