Somebody needs to make a damn harness to permanently disable all the electronic nannies on these new trucks. Got off in a rut this weekend in 2wd, punched it, spun then lost most of my power. Annoying as hell.

How do the trucks do that? Apply the brakes, mess with the engine? Excuse my knowledge on it, never drove a newer 2007+ one yet

Mine closes the throttle between wot gear shifts, and i'm pretty sure that's what it does for traction control too. Mine shifting 1st to 2nd sounds like i'm driving a standard. All of that can be removed with a tune.

I'd guess the computer pulls timing but I am not certain.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like the newer trucks as far as styling goes...

I think the styling is decent. I think its 20x better than current gen. That said I still prefer my Y2K silvy to any of these however I really wish there was an easy way to update the interior.

It is really just personal preference in the end.

WOW! Looked like the gmc was out for a Sunday drive. I realize that was at altitude though. And for the 14 to take nearly 9 seconds to 60 it was either doing a massive burnout I couldn't hear, has 3.08 gears, is heavier than it should be or gm's posting bs #'s or the power is in a narrow rpm range. But yes, based on that video alone it is a turd, and will be until better numbers appear. Just my opinion.

Agreed. It's gotta do better than his time.

That turd of a Dodge did about the same times as my 09 did...... and yeah I know how to drive if you are questioning it. In the same breath when you are driving a gutless wonder that can't spin its tires if its life depended on it there really is no skill required. Tuned but otherwise stock 07+ Denali AWD pickup here runs around 15 second flat quarter miles at my local track.... which is around 2300' above sea level and generally has a DA above 4000'. Which is why I usually have trouble with the posted times on the internet..... Considering when I was track avid in my SRT8 Charger I was always a bit slower than the sea level guys but not 2 or 3 seconds slower like these truck forums claim with certain rides anyways.

Either way it will be interesting to see what a normal accreditted magazince comes up with for 0-60 and quarter mile on the 2014 5.3..... I really don't see it being impressive. Probably the same if not slower than the 2013 models.
