Default needing some advice on which lowering kit

I have done alot of reading and found that the mcgaughys lowering kits seem to be the most commonly used and have seemed to gotten great reviews on there products.
while searching for a lowering kit I have tried to decide how low to go would be best for me.
I considered dropping the rear to just level or
2/4, 2/5, 3/5, 3/6, 3/7, and 4/7 etc.
I just purchased this truck 08 single cab silverado w/t ls model factory steel wheel for right now.
I plan to lower this with the factory wheels and tires for now until I can get the wheels I want I really did not want to put bigger wheel with it sitting so high this is why lowering will come first.
I like these truck sitting on 4/7 and lower stance how ever I'm not looking to c-notch just yet so that drop will be later.
2/4 just don't seem like enough so I I have decided either 3/5 or 4/6 would be just right for me for now.
my only concern with lowering is will factory wheels and tires clear until I can upgrade.
and my other question is I have seen a few kits and I don't know the difference between them and which would be better suited for me.
this is one of them. part # 34060 this kit cost more but comes without shocks
Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2007-2013 3/5 - 4/6 Deluxe Drop Kit - McGaughys Part# 34060 - Mcgaughys-Suspension.com

this is another part # 34070 this kit cost less but comes with shocks
Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2007-2013 3/5 - 4/6 Deluxe Drop Kit W/Shocks - McGaughys Part# 34070 - Mcgaughys-Suspension.com

this 2 kits are both 3/5 adjustable but other than coming with shocks and not whats the real difference there has to be a reason as to why the one without shocks cost more than the one with.
I have always heard and thought that you get what pay for so thats kinda why the question.
thanks guys

Mostly just the top of the tires rubbing on inner fenders when hitting big dips in the road. Turning lock to lock tires cleared, but not by much.

i have the 34070 kit on my 2010 CC lowered 4/6. I had to cut the lower balljoint stud so I could run factory rims. Also the top balljoint on one side doesn't look like its seated all the way but I guess this is normal.

Those are my two gripes with the kit.

things like this are what concern me if cutting the bolt on the ball joint is required can the cotter pin still be put in.

and if the ball joints are not seating properly that a huge problem I had this problem with another lowering kit with my old integra which caused the car to shift from side to side while in a turn nearly causing a wreck.

There is no cotter pin on the bottom or top, they should have nylon on the end of the nuts.

I've cut the end of the ball joint off my old 06 sierra when I ran drop spindles with 18in rims, no problems.
