nav radio problems

trying to add factory navigation radio to truck without bose, sound is very low I know there have been posts on this before but cant find it. can someone tell me what i need to do. I have the factory harness from GM to add nav, installed the antenna and everything works fine but dont have much sound truck is a 2007 nnbs crew.

The factory navigation head units don't have internal amplifiers, that's why the sound level is low. I don't know if you can add the Bose amplifier and wiring harness to your audio system to make it work. I've read and been told by someone who works at a dealership that the GM Nav head units aren't anything close to "plug and play" on non-Bose trucks. You may be better off buying a "breakout box" such as the JL Audio Cleansweep which will enable you to use an aftermarket amplifier to drive your factory speakers.

You will need to install an amp for sure. I even had to change amps from the regular Bose to get the nav radio to work. The nav radio uses a Class II communication amp. The regular Bose does not.
