Default Led drl

Has anyone had success with running LEDs as day time running lights? I tried several different kinds with my 04 silverado with no success. Some would last a week, a month even as long as six months but they would eventually die. I ended up giving up and did not run any for about 2 years. I just purchased a 2012 and figured I would give it a shot again. Any success stories?

I disconnected my DRL fuse and pluged a LED strip into hot side of the fuse box where the DRL fuse normally is.
Not sure if you were referring to something like this or replacing the actual H11 bulb with a LED bulb.
Got these from a local Euro store, DDM Tuning.
Now my LED strips light up as DRL's instead of my HID bulbs.
I also tapped into my Fog light switch. Since I elminated my fog lights i can now use the factory switch to turn on the LEDs at night.
