Anybody have problem with their 1-3/4" Kooks rubbing on the firewall heat shield?
Pretty much what the technician at the dealership has narrowed it down to. I suppose the fact that they put the tranny spacer in when they first did the rear flip it may have jiggled the drive line around enough for them to rub with the torque of the engine.... I dunno lol

That was my understanding, that Kooks don't rub.
The only thing I can think of is when they did the trans spacer, perhaps it was enough of a tilt that the headers hit the heat shield.... but doesn't explain why after I took the trans spacer out, it still makes the noise

Still chasing the noise issue Bill ?
Any way to put some type of thin heat resistant wedge between header and firewall to see if the noise changes or is still there ?
Or any paint rubbed off or rub marks on the headers ?

How close is it with the truck off? That doesn't sound right to me.
just my .02 but id say that's not it. When the engine moves under tq its not really vibrating that much its just twisting. at that point its spinning too fast to really rattle against something. I think you would be more likely to hear a rattle at idle if that was the case.
Have you literally looked at every single rotating part under the truck? Is there any way you can get a sound clip so we can have some idea what it sounds like.

So just got back from picking the truck up. No way in hell the primaries are rubbing the heat shield on the firewall, there's miles of ****** room. Technician told me he could not recreate the problem on the rack, had to be done under load.
Now that I have it in the light of the garage I'm gonna try to look around for some rub marks in the engine bay I suppose.
Here's a clip I had from before of the noise

Ya I'll let you know what I can find, if anything.
Well you know what I told you when we spoke. Up until this point I haven't had a problem.... but this is pretty much a ****** joke now. They seem to be under the impression that I have some radical build and this noise is completely normal.
I can tell you one thing is for sure, they lost me as a customer... and you guys all know how many trucks I go through lol.
